Brian Lara Cricket 2005 (Pc Game)

Brian Lara International Cricket 2005 (BLIC) also known as Ricky Ponting Cricket in Australia and New Zealand is the latest cricket release from Codemasters following what many call the holy grail in Brian Lara Cricket 99. This game was released in July 2005 on Xbox, PlayStation 2 and Windows PC platforms. This release is the first cricket title developed by Swordfish Studios.

BLIC 2005 is the first Cricket game to include hawk-eye which allows you to see a virtual replay of your delivery and of course see if you were robbed by the umpire! This game is also the first to include licensed bats including Kookaburra and Gunn & Moore.

The game is fully licensed for the 2003 Cricket World Cup in Africa and the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy. There are other basic modes that lets you play in Test and ODI series but these players will have fake names.

The graphics are on par if not better than its counterpart Cricket 2005 with more accurate body physique. Faces was the only let down in the graphics department but this was more due to licensing issues.

BLIC 2005 provides wholesome and entertaining cricketing experience. The lack of tournaments takes away from the longevity of the game but the online mode helps in this regard. Overall a good first attempt by Swordfish.
